Robert man...did you really want to do that?

Now you've gone and done it. I actually am going to waste valuable time to answer this stuff. I hope to heck folks on the left are going to print it up on their printers and keeping it as a handy reference before they start ranting about America again.

Paranoia has many manifestations. The 'being accused of treason' meme is one of those.

But just for you Robert, since you seem to have stereotyped your opposition as persecutional and thuggish, I will throw a quick answer for each of those 14 points.

1. Powerful and continuing expressions of nationalism.

Only in the globalists view, which equates other nations as superior to the US, can this be perceived as a bad thing. We are the most developed nation on earth. When we obey our constitution people live more free. Afghanistan and Iraq will over time be added to Germany and Japan as victories of the US constitutional model. Meanwhile, millions live with freedoms and goods they had never experienced.

2. Disdain for the importance of human rights.

This one is just a crock. Everything we do is done with this concern. It's amazing how the folks who bring freedom to others are the oppressors and those who keep their people in slavery and repressed are the noble guardians of human rights. Uh' wake up call Robert...in Germany you can be arrested and fined for keeping your store open past the officially sanctioned government hours (based on religious tenets) or on Sunday. If your business serves travelers they make exceptions, but basically you better be closed long before 7 pm most of the week and closed on Sunday. Where is the great outrage over German's religious extrremism influencing their government and oppressing their people? People who think the US is oppressive or religious simply haven't traveled enough. Be careful I feel a Broszian rant on socialist/communist collectives coming on.

3. Identification of enemies/scapegoats as a unifying cause.

Hmmm. Let's see. The world constantly engages in labeling groups. In case you missed it, Gemany's Schroeder labeled Bush and America as the threat as he ran for re-election. Chirac just said the EU has to become more strengthened against America. Another wake up call Robert...these folks are not looking out for you and your interests. They want power and resources and Bush is just a convenient scapegoat to unify their cause. Irony? O don't expect anyone on the left side of the isle perceives it.

4. The supremacy of the military/avid militarism

This is the ancient Vietnam rationale. I discussed this on my blog when I rehashed the "new left." They disdain our operations in Afghanistan and Iraq and then they turn around and beg for our military intervention in Sudan because they spend all their money on providing lazy folks with one month a year vacations or keeping their work force chained to a religion-based schedule. The US military saved the world. Twice. But contempt for US power is what this all about. Don't worry Robert, you're not a two-bit tyrant who needs to fear the US military. Neither is Eric to my knowledge. Worry about the military of North Korea or Iran's nuclear weapons program. Or worry about the fact that Europe and the UN don't create efficient military forces and need to be babysat by the US everytime one of these two-bit tyrants steps on their toes. Your time will be much better spent.

5. Rampant sexism

God. Another farce. Travel the world a bit please. Go to the Middle East. Go to Africa. Go to South America. Go to Asia. Come back home and call the US sexist with a straight face.

6.A controlled mass media

Leftist controlled? The media where 99% of the reporters and employees are registered Democrats? Yes, I would agree with that one.

Another absolute farce. Travel the world and see how other nation's press is treated.

7.Obsession with national security

Let's get the talking points straight shall we? First Bush is an unconcerned dolt for sitting in a classroom and Condi Rice and the CIA for having dropped the ball re: 9/11 and now after years of demwitted conspiracy theories about it being Bush's intention to let terrorists attack the US, the nation is now too "obsessed" with National Security. Ah, sure...I get it. Go to the mirror. Look into it and congratulate yourselves.

8. Religion and ruling elite tied together

Again, this line just shows how truly ignorant and cloistered the writers of this propaganda are. Either that or they expect the readers of it to be untraveled idiots. Try religion and government walking hand in hand almost all over the world! Bush's late-in-life embraced Christianity has little chance of uniting church and state in America. Again, where the heck is the outrage over places that actually DO unite church and state? Bush's evangelical friends will be a shadow after four years and the nation will survive quite nicely, thank you.

9. Power of corporations protected

A capitalist society values the individuals who gather to form coporations. They realize prosperity and wealth of the nation is largely produced by corporate activity. Some folks are completely clueless about this. Again, travel to Japan, France or Germany and see how they treat their corporations! The US is WAY behind the curve in corporate protection when compared to these nations who practically turn corporations into state entities. The US has it just right.

10. Power of labor suppressed or eliminated

Where? How? NAFTA? That was Clinton's legislation. Labor has to get their act together and realize that foreign competition has got their act together and is competing for corporate work at less wages. Time to merge unions the way banks merged to compete with foreign banks. Sadly, union leadership, is often thug-like and not real bright. US labor needs to strenghten its position. The power of labor is being diminshed by Mexico, China and India. Other nations will be added over time. US protectionism in the long haul will lead to other global competitors putting US companies out of business. It's a jungle out there and the American worker needs better unions then they have now.

Here's another freebie for the left. Find a way to unionize your competition. India and China wouldn't steal our jobs if they had higher wages and were unionized. Oh, but then they don't have our constitutional system of protections do they? Hmmm. Maybe you want to outsource Moveon protestors and other folks who whine about uncaring government to these nations where they might actually do some good for a change.

11. Disdain and suppression of intellectuals and the arts

Well considering how I'm treated here, the disdain part may be true. Being an intellectual comes with those sort of burdens.

When did Bush outlaw artistic expression? I must've missed that one too.

12. Obsession with crime and punishment

Let's see when the crime rate goes up, people's lives and property are forfeited. So concern about crime and punishment is now bad? How so? Where is this 'obsession' manifesting itself? More prosecutions? More police? Where?

I just don't see it, but like most of this list it's an illusion based upon provincial American urban ignorance.

13. Rampant cronyism and corruption

Politics is by nature cronyish. That's like accusing unions of being mobs. As for corruption, Bush's administration is vastly less corrupt than Clinton's was. Far less criminal prosecutions, interactions with known criminals, receiving illegal monies, etc.

However if we add it to a long paranoid list it certainly sounds good and serious and acts as good filler doesn't it?

14. Fraudulent elections

Bush won? It must be fraudulent! This is such a hoot when it comes from the Democrats who live, eat and breathe political fraudulence. Frauds such as this ridiculous list.

Serious concerns? Not at all. The views of provincial, untraveled Americans who have never seen the rest of the world and envision them as better places than America.

My advice: All unhappy Democrats should go to these wonderful nations you feel are better than the US!

GO!

Live there for a year. Find work there! Observe these governments in action. Break out of your provincial shell of ignorance and see how the real world lives! The US has protected you, given you illusions about how the rest of the world must live. When you come back, if you survive and if you can afford to come back, we will all give you a chance to humbly apologize for acting like spoiled, adult, ignorant asses.
