The Founding Fathers were quite correct in insisting that Church and State be separated. If religion was to be taught in public school then which religion? Children would be spending their time at taxpayer's expense learning about the differences between Methodists and Baptists or Greek Orthodox and Antiochian Orthodox (no doubt the Coptic Orthodox would be offended about their exclusion). I'm glad the whole issue is avoided and children spend their time learning mathematics. Kids can learn about religion at the local church or from their parents.
