liberal Democrat stereotypes

Actually the relative of mine who is the worst religious fanatic is also a liberal Democrat (I'm a non-liberal Democrat). I find it funny that the BDS liberals out there assume religious fundamentalists are always Republicans. In my family there is a strong correlation between religious extremism and liberal politics. The opposite is also true, i.e. the agnostics tend to be conservative Democrats or Republicans. I actually don't like the label "conservative" and don't fit the stereotype. I prefer to think of myself as a "political realist".
