I could maybe see this used for ultra-high acceleration (immerse the pilot in liquid), but I have never seen any application in space flight where ultra-high acceleration is necessary. Hell, most of the time the problem is coming up with ENOUGH acceleration.

I'm not sure that acceleration would be any less strenuous in a liquid environment than otherwise.
