Newts and Newtons

Hi Larry J

Dana Andrews' original paper made the point that salamanders - axolotls? - live quite happily in high-gee centrifuges when immersed in water. The point is that being under high pressure inside and out acts against the gee stress on your body. I think that the astronauts involved might need to breath the stuff and have it replace their blood. Stanislaw Lem, since he was a doctor, was aware of the problems and had the crew with surgically reopened umbilicals hooked up to an artificial blood supply that they also floated in that he called onax.

I guess gilled amphibians are quite distinct from humans with diaphragms.
