First of all Crichton is a hack author- ever read sphere or congo, or the sequel to jurrassic park?

Essentially what your post implies is that we shouldnt worry about problems we create today since : 1) we will probably be dead when the debt has to be paid, and 2) our descendants will maybe find a solution .... doesnt this bother your conservitive soul? You whine about taxes and cavalierly push the idea that we can do whatever we want today without concern for our future ... yeah that is sooo responsible

you will notice the premise of his argument is LITERALLY horse shit... The obvious difference is today we have the knowledge to understand the potential ramifications of our actions, and horse shit pollution is kind of minor compared to what we are doing now...

could we understand human life 100 years from now?
