I had no problem with the man asking the question. It was an honest question that concerned a lot of military people over the past year, and hardly a new issue.
I wasn't even all that cranked that the question was pushed by a reporter, although it would have been nice if that had come out in the early stories instead of having to be pried loose.
What is pissing me off is the media, some politicians, and others lying about the issue, ignoring the facts behind it, and using it solely as a method for attacking the administration and the war. They are a lot more concerned about ripping Rumsfeld a new one than they are about armoring trucks.
This was the Democratic response to the weekend presidential address today. Compare his statements and numbers with the numbers and explanations in the DOD press briefing.
This is raw politics.
I put the data sources out, and not from bloggers, either. Take it or leave it.
