The only thing rewarding about such evil events...

...is, as evil as the majority allows themselves to become, there are a few that would rather die than play along with the evil... Often they die for those beliefs- and usually they aren't saints in the rest of their lives...

Schindler was, in his personal life, an asshole... It is hard to argue with that fact- but he saved so many lives... the great thing about the movie 'Schindler's List' was it portrayed him as the flawed person he was... Had it tried to portray him as a saint it would have failed...and would not have been as powerful...

I am one of those people that wanted to giggle during Leonardo DiCaprio's death scene in 'Titanic' but I freely admit some movies can bring tears to my eyes... 'Schindler's List' was so far beyond that, that I couldnt even shed a tear- it was probably the most powerful movie I have ever seen...

I walked out of that movie numb... exhausted.... I had watched it intently, wincing often, It was painful to watch- and the fact that the director was able to make you feel one billionth of the pain the victims suffered says a lot about his ability...

I really felt like crying during the ending- where the survivors and their descendants set stones in his memory, but I was too overwhelmed by the story- That was one of the few movies that left me dazed...

I think that is the most powerful movie of the century... I keep meaning to watch it again, It is agonizing to watch but the ending is equally positive... but it is emotionally exhausting...

If you havent seen it then You should... It shows how evil people can be, In fact most of the movie shows nothing but the evil people can do in its most extreme... but the few minutes where it shows the immense good people are capable of balances it out, and in the end wins...

(wow this didn't start out as a movie review...)

Anyways I have read about the japanese official that saved lives of jews... and I would love to hear more of his actions... the fact is there were MANY heroes that stood up to evil... unfortunately there was a lot of worthless trash that played along... (as we have seen, that trash still has its supporters)
