the fact remains ..
that the most powerful and capable country in the world should be able to do a lot better in finding better armour to protect its own men and women in their vehicles. Heck, that's an industrial/materiel question, which the US has excelled in above all other things ..
Like I said above, our standards and expectations for human life have changed from what they were in WW2, so those other previous examples have limited application to this present debate IMO.
