bottom line for anyone should be:
that one should have a damn bloody good reason for the justifying of the deaths of thousands of people on both sides - especially when that person themselves, or their close ones, are not the ones directly involved.
Not that you're personally unsympathetic, or don't care for these soldiers or human life generally; however, the human failing seems to be that ideology blinds and numbs us, and in the end, you might be no exception. Don't you know that the original Bolsheviks really believed that were saving lives and bringing peace to an imperialist, war-mongering world?
