"We would not ever have supported any regimes that used death squads as a matter of policy. Left or right regimes."
What do you think of when you use the the term "supported"? Give one example of a country in the world is the US not "supporting"? Did the deal [involving billions of dollars] with N Korea regarding their nuclear reactors fit your definition of "support" and therefore you could say we supported N Korea? Are we "supporting" Cuba by "allowing" Cuban Americans to send billions per year to their families in that repressed State?
We currently don't a formal governmental relationship with Iran, but American citizens and businesses do have various relationships with Iran.
And the US govt is formally supporting such places as Egypt (billions of dollars in various types of governmental "support"). The US government also spends billions to the UN which provides various kinds of "governmental support" to usually the most corrupt, oppressive, and bankrupt type countries.

- What will be the reaction by the Left when Communism falls in Cuba? Any predictions?

- Speaking from the "left"...
- The sort of misconception which precludes a reality-based mindset.
- It is a bad government - though not as bad as some I could name.
