Space/Science » in reply to UPDATE: Wishstone Rich in Phosphorus

Minor correction:

Sedimentary phosphate is not exacly part of the evaporite sequence, but close. More of chemical precipitate resulting from mixing waters of different temps, pH, Eh... Typically continental shelf settings, but I don't know about other environments... I'll have to check.

Wishstone doesn't look like a sediment, but you never know with some of these chemical precipitates, they can be quite poly-crystalline.

And if it is a sediment, then there is every chance it might contain mud or silt, in which case Nick and I both have mud on our faces, and Buck can do the tossing.

I realize I'm getting way ahead of myself, let's wait and see before we get out the mudpies.
