Have been around for a long time. At the prison I worked, these were part of the favs that floated around.
Answering these requires a mind set that is looking for the gimick. This is well suited to the prison mentality, but outside the experience to normal thinking. Of course this explains why straight people have such apparent difficulty and get so frustrated when they are given the correct answers.
Just for fun, try a couple of these on someone. When they "sucker in" stop the questions and tell them the correct answers. They will do much better on the remainder.
It is a matter of adjusting your thinking paradigm.
