I appreciate the links, and the extra effort, but it's mostly a large and complex red herring. Like Sharon at the holy site, like every other rationale for intifada that gets run out and lapped up by eager sympathizers around the world.
Jordan has as much access to the Jordan aquifer as Israel does. What are they doing with it?
The basis of the situation in the Middle East is that the people who have been ruling the Palestinians for decades want Israel utterly destroyed, and Israel does not want this. You can dance around this all you want, but that's the bottom line, and everything else proceeds from that. Everything the Palestinians teach their own people assumes that every square inch of that area should belong to the Palestinians. No Jews, please. "Coexistence" is trotted out for naive Americans and others, but the Palestinian leaders know better.
Israel is occupying the West Bank, taken from Jordan, because a number of Arab nations wanted Israel utterly destroyed and Israel fought back and won.
Did you look at the map of the original boundaries that I linked to?
You can't compromise with someone who wants you dead. There isn't any middle ground to meet on. You can't agree to be "mostly dead."
I don't have a lot of hope for the new Palestinian leaders, either.
Flame » in reply to Sorry. It worked when I previewed it. Trying again.
Thanks!
