re: Look at where the water comes from.

Israel controls the water. Israel stole the land from the Palestinians. Geez, right off the old cue cards.

More on the water resources of the area here. If Israel controls the water it's because Israeli technology pumps, refines, and delivers the water. The water has been there for four thousand years.

Palestinian refugees, told by the Arabs that they should leave before the first war and could return when Israel was exterminated, were later thrown out of most Arab nations. The Arab nations like the Palestinians as cannon fodder against Israel, and have absolutely no interest in seeing them either assimilated into other nations, or developing a stable nation of their own.

As for land being taken from the Palestinians, the entire Ottoman Empire was reconfigured into new nations. I don't hear bitching about countries like Jordan that were created from whole cloth from the Ottoman Empire the same way. And hey, they expelled their Palestinians.

Anyway, the "stolen land" theory of why Israel is hated does not pass the Syria/Lebanon equivalence test. If taking land were all that it was about, there'd be a lot more hostility toward Syria.

The only consistent rationale for the behavior of the Arabs toward Israel is because the nation is Jewish. Every last thing Israel has done has been done by Arabs to each other, without generating the universal hostility that Israel does.

And it's the Arabs who apparently believe all Jews are Zionists. You didn't hear that from me.
