Not at all, I'm rationalizing a retaliatory response.

The facts of history are pretty clear as to what started the blitz on London. The German high command had made clear that overt civilian targets were off limits during the Battle of Britain. Not until Churchill ordered the bombing of Berlin did things spiral into total war. In fact the retaliatory bombing of London probably cost Germany the war. The Luftwaffe had the RAF on its knees by the continued bombing and strafing of airfields, production facilities, and C&C centers. By focusing their resources on reducing London to rubble, the RAF was given enough breathing space to make a recovery, thus saving Britain from invasion.

What Germany did to London was no different that what our response would've been had the USSR nuked Washington.
