Fossilized Fumerole Vents?

Top left, tentacle looking thing sticking out of the ground? I've seen several of these, and the rounded fractured sphere is definitely being extruded from the ground. I've also seen several perfect hemispheres embedded in irregular volcanic looking rock, and several perfect hemispheric sections extruding from what looks like fossilized mat, plus many lobate and folded mat like flows. I've seen this same stuff in the distance at the pathfinder site too. The Mars Express overhead colored view of the entire area is especially revealing, it looks like the hills could be the last remaining remnant of a whole layer of ice bearing strata. The whole thing reeks of geothermal mud.
