A constitutional revolution, lasted until, ahem, the imposition of the Shah in 1953.
Lebanon managed to have democracy from 1920 until the 70s/80s when Syria/Israel/Jordan/US started f'ing around with them.
Amazingly enough, one rarely hears anguish about Syria's brutal rule over Lebanon.
Neither did Syria's occupation generate the same response as the invasion of Kuwait.
Can't imagine why.....
