"The Dresden bombing was the justified and unavoidable consequence of the German nation tolerating the crimes of their Nazi leaders."

I don't see the two as being connected. Yes the Nazis were monsters and committed horrible crimes. However Nazi Germany was a totalitarian state. The opinion of the common German citizen didn't seriously concern Hitler and the high ranking Nazis (particularly late in the war). Public opinion (from Hitler's perspective) was something he controlled through propaganda. Terrorizing the German population late in WW-II was tactically unjustifiable. Leveling some German cities was justifiable because they supported the German military industry, e.g. Kassel and Schweinfurt. However destroying other ancient cities like Hildesheim, Halberstadt and Dresden didn't serve any useful miiltary purpose and was simple vandalism. If you see before-and-after WW-II pictures of Braunschweig (a legitimate military target), you can't help but feel the whole human race lost something when the city was destroyed.

p.s. allowing neo-Nazis the opportunity to experience fire bombing first hand is a good idea.
