Careful not to jump to conclusions

That two things are in the same place does not automatically imply cause and effect. This is a common logical error, and I've probably made it myself a few times.

I haven't done any research on this, but it's also possible that people with emotional problems to start with would tend to be on some kind of antidepressant, so that when they did something bizarre, they would turn out to be taking that drug.

For example, an awful lot of people who die from complications of diabetes turn out to have been taking insulin. Doesn't mean insulin killed them.

If Prozac caused the emotional problems, why were they taking Prozac in the first place? Why doesn't everyone who takes Prozac do this?

I'm not insisting there is no cause and effect, but it needs to be carefully looked at, preferably without settlement-hungry attorneys muddying the waters.
