I don't agree precisely with your choice of adjectives but I am concerned about the continued lack of intel we have, esp with regard to the REAL and forseeable nuclear capability of axis of evil states, q.v. Iraq and N Corea. Will the intel reforms work or will they, like Homeboy Security, add additional layers of management? Will PC constraints continue to handicap effectivity?
There was a massive intel failure by ALL the Western powers re: Iraq and WMD. Combine that with the administration's predisposition to believe that SH was active with WMD and you see the result. I call it 'the CBS effect', wherein humans believe tenuous evidence that is congruent with their worldview. Intelligent scepticism is a rare trait, often overwhelmed by groupthink. That's why I always wanted folks on my team who were effective at arguing the counterview.
