re: You're still spinning

"Bush said Saddam had hundreds of tons of WMDs. He sent Colin Powell to the U.N. to present so-called evidence. His CIA DIrector said it was slam dunk case. On that basis we went to war. It was utter hogwash. "

It is a fact that Saddam had hundreds of tons of WMD as documented by UN inspectors, Powell went to UN to present evidence, the CIA director (Clinton appointed) said it was a slam dunk, and we went to war and changed the regime in Iraq.
And Iraq now has govt which was elected by Iraqis. And it appears the we are making progress defeating terrorism around the global.

Meanwhile we are still in various quagmires from the Clinton adminstration: Northern Ireland is still a problem despite Clinton's victory lap, Bosnia is still a quagmire which Clinton said it would take a year:

2 Dec. 2004:
"SFOR has been brought to a successful end almost exactly nine years since NATO deployed forces in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1995 in what was the Alliance’s first peacekeeping operation.

...
The successful termination of SFOR does not spell the end of NATO’s engagement in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

...
It will also carry out some operational tasks, in co-ordination with the European Union. This will include counter-terrorism and assistance in apprehending persons indicted for war crimes."

And N Korea was badly handled by Clinton administration, giving only for false that this situation was resolved:

"TOKYO (Reuters) - The United States has warned the International Atomic Energy Agency that North Korea has been preparing to carry out an underground nuclear test since March and could go ahead as early as June, Kyodo news agency said on Saturday."

So that's another Quagmire, Bush inherited.

East Timor could be one success that Clinton could point to, but the Aussies probably had more to do with this success than America.

Meanwhile Bush's policy has got the Middle east engaged in real reform. He has got Pakistan as an ally. Has completed a war in Afghanistan and they have held elections and are making progress. Libya is working against terrorism rather than being a sponsor of terror. Syria has ended it's decades old occupation of Lebanon [pressure from France and America playing significant role in ending this]. Ukraine got a free election and Ukraine prime minister was speaking in Congress a short while ago [hopefully Congress will address some of his concerns- and btw was warmly welcomed by both Dems and Reps]. And the list goes on and on. Proving what I said before that Bush will probably be remembered as one the greatest President in US history [contrary to claim of some wackjob on this board saying he was the worst US President ever].
