I've noticed a marked lack of capacity for exclusionary hypothesis around here. I gather there aren't a lot of chess players.
The point I'm trying to make is that regardless of whether or not the weapons turned out to be there, or whether we should have done it now or not, having it done now will save someone doing it ten years in the future, and maybe under worse conditions. A lot of people have made a good case that if we'd cleaned up Iraq after the first Gulf War, it would have gone a lot easier. But the price for the coalition back then, along with U.N. blessings, was "no regime change." Think about that for a while, too.
