For myself I've seen some weird fast moving lights/spheres that I haven't been able to identify, but I am extremely reluctant to call them anything "extraterrestrial".
Arthur C. Clarke wrote a classic essay about his own UFO experience which he eventually identified as a sun-dog. His point still stands that most people don't look at the sky long enough or often enough to get a real feel for the "normal" stuff up there, and are easily misled by imagination when they spot a distant jet-liner shining brightly in the Sun, Venus in daylight, or some other everyday luminous event.
