re: you're getting a little closer to a measurable assertion

"when you said "environmentalist murder millions of children."

Just tell me if you'd like to phrase it in the form of a bet - at least two million deaths as a result of environmentalists inhibiting DDT use? Is that your position?"

It's my understanding that currently over a million people are dying annually from malaria, most of these deaths are children. Currently there is much international effort involved in fighting malaria, a significant part of this effort uses DDT, despite efforts by environmentists who do not want DDT to be used.
It could be assumed that without this recent effort, millions more would have died, further it can reasonable hoped that over the years far few deaths will occur because of this effort. But if this effort excluded using DDT, then it probably would be mostly unsuccessful and perhaps we could be having over 2 million people dying each year [with most of them being children].
Since the time of the publishing of Silent Spring, tens of millions of children have died from malaria. And the affects of malaria of causing poverty has been significant. One could say that the problem of malaria is so severe, that all other efforts of solving poverty have been overwhelmed by this problem. Malaria is like a huge hole in your boat, other measures other then combating malaria are like using teacups to bail the water out.
When we had malaria in the United State we defeated it with DDT, and everyone who had a clue, knew that Malaria was serious problem could be solved by using DDT.

DDT hasn't killed humans, nor has it killed birds. The result of the pseudo science of the "Silent Spring" has killed humans [even birds- if you consider the "environmentally friendly" bird whackers as part of this legacy].

So in summary your statement "at least two million deaths as a result of environmentalists inhibiting DDT use" seems reasonable.

"Silent Spring" has not saved the life of a single bird, but it has been wildly popular and the author has recieved much fame and wealth as a result of publishing it.

That Rachel Carson was some vampire bitch from Hell, might be overly descriptive, perhaps one could say "false, but accurate", or how about: "fair and balanced".

But now it's time for a commerical:

"Silent Spring, 40th Anniversary Edition
Rachel Carson

A landmark book, Silent Spring changed the course of history by spurring policy changes and launching the ecology movement. This now-classic work reminds us that individual initiative and courage can make a difference. An excellent read for students and teachers alike. Softcover, 378 pages."
