Are you people ever going to realize that "the producer as the enemy" is not conducive to a prosperous and free economy? That it's the main reason we are where we're at now? To the Left, consumers are on one side of the line, and producers on the other, in an armed standoff. In reality, they are all the same people on one level or another.
A monopsony can indeed control prices. So can a monopoly. Why is the first wonderful and the latter an abomination? Whatever. But the most powerful of either cannot eliminate market forces. I've seen the price and wage controls Democrats anticipate for their medical care ideas. Good luck getting anyone to produce what's needed - products or labor - at those prices. Pass this table around to your doctor friends, and tell them to say hello to the great socialist future.
The entire world feeds off our medical technologies and innovations. It's like pointing out that Europe had lower military costs than we did during the Cold War.
