Okay, I freely admit that I am not a nuclear physicist - though I have watched The China Syndrome several times ("What are those things?" my one son asked when he saw the actors pretending to be reporters using *typewriters* to do their "job" - yes, thanks son, I am officially old now) and I have read just enough on the subject to be dangerous.
I was just under the impression that nuclear fusion was clean compared to nuclear fission. Please explain what I am missing here?
And please note I am not arguing, just trying to get some details - Arguments are down the hall to the left. This is Abuse. :^)
Hey, how about an antimatter power plant?! You get plenty of bang for just a little amount of buck, we'll be cranking out antimatter in vast amounts - in about twenty years - and if something goes wrong, there won't be any mess to clean up!
Seriously, would an antimatter power plant work on Earth?
