"So far the denialists argument is: "Yeah humans are increasing CO2, Yeah it has been shown CO2 causes warming, Yeah we are seeing effects of global warming.... BUT you cant prove something else isnt the REAL problem..."
How can you argue with such intellectual dishonesty? "
Why bother arguing strawman arguments?
As far as denial goes. Some questions:
In past few decade has there popular books providing predictions regarding what global temperature could be in the year 2005?
Were these books accurate. And would you characterize them good science?
In regards to Hockey Stick. First do you think it is accurate graph? If it's not accurate, what reasons would you give for this being accepted by UN and other scientists and presented as accurate. Regarding this graph. Briefly comment on Little Ice age and Medieval Climate Optimum. Do you accept that current global temperature are not the warmest period in Earth history? Do you accept that current global CO2 levels are no where near the highest level in Earth history?
Finally regarding CO2 duration in atmosphere, suppose CO2 were 100 times current level [and without human activity doing anything to change these levels] how long would these high level remain in our current atmosphere- what time range would these levels lower to say 50 times current level? If I said it would require 1000 years, would this be too long or too short? Would it be possible to half this level in less 10 years? What if it instead Global CO2 level was only 10 times the current level would the time required to half this level take longer or shorter than compared to 100 times?
Both question assume these large quantities CO2 were dumped uniformly into our atmosphere on say Monday July 11 2005 within a period of 24 hours.
Regarding Climate models, would describe them mostly as tools to further understand global climate, or do you think the they are acceptable way of predicting global temperature. [In other words should govt consider these Climate models as justification to imposing costs on the public which could amount to hundreds billions dollars?].
