It actually caught me off guard how little of the plane was made by Boeing proper. Building planes is getting to be like building a home - where almost everything is subcontracted and the primary contracter merely doles out the money. Pretty soon we'll find ourselves subsidizing foreign nations with our military contracts too.

Those pie charts and bar graphs showing the various nations' market share of aerospace sales was quite eye-opening too. Japan and these other nations hold a much bigger slice of the pie than the last time I paid attention to such statistics.

I'm going to be watching these folks a bit closer. They must have some serious motivational speakers on the organizational payroll. We need to steal them away to get our own behinds in gear.
