two quick reviews
I'm on the road again, so this has to be short:
The Golden globe was fun, with some good action and settings. I enjoyed it.
Red Thunder was good, but not great. Rather Heinleinian in some aspects: a group of smart young people hook up with a alder man who has befriended a savant discover a new propulsion system and head to Mars. A fun read, if a little bit lax on the science.
My younger bro said the new one is a fast read, enjoyable, with a bit of self-mocking.
The John Varley Reader is also availiable, for those that enjoy his short stories and VarleyYarns.
