Last S.O.B. Standing>It simply suffices to say that the SADM was developed in the early 1970s, with the trend of technology, how small do you think a SADM would be to date?
The W54 SADM was operational between 1964 and 1988, and had a variable yield between 10 tons and 250 tons of TNT. I may be wrong, but 1 KT may be too high of yield for a W54 class device. (The W25 had a nominal yield of 1.5 KT and the approximately 400 pound MADM (operational from 1965 to 1986) had a variable yield of between 1 KT and 15 KT.) The unit with the carrying case weighed about 163 pounds. I don't believe the US currently deploys SADMs or is developing a lighter, more compact device. I imagine a lighter version could be engineered, but the warhead itself can't be made any lighter and maintain the explosive yield unless a more efficient design compensates for the loss of fissionable material.
