Not sure where anyone got the idea that Rush paints himself as a reporter.

The whole show is about his opinions, and about broadcasting viewpoints that don't get a lot of air time otherwise. I don't use Rush as a primary news source. But for that matter, I don't used TV news as a primary news source either. They are a lot more subtle about their propaganda.
