.. I'm starting to think some of these guys would find excuses, rebuttals and apologies even if the government dropped a nuke on its own citizens
(well, at least if it was only an accident .. I don't want to sound unreasonable here ..)
This has little to do with Bush the man; it's institutional and also to do with the apportioning of resources overseas, eg Iraq. - Oh jeez sorry, that must mean I'm Bush-bashing aren't I. Didn't realize that till just now .. the joys of self-discovery!
The only possible explanation must be that ANSWER and MOVEON are focussing a brainwashing ray on my head from 12,000 miles away .. what else could it possibly be after all?
What happened in NO could happen in any country in the world, even worse for that matter, and this really shows up problems in governance, institutions and social morality, worldwide. The US govt seems to have made good amends since the early days but nonetheless questions must be asked and answered about those early days. Good luck to you and others for keeping the matter alive. I'm not from your country so apart from this post I don't think I should get too directly involved.

no wonder this place seems empty lately
The whole thread (15 posts)
- Something to keep in mind...
- PS, for someone who is admonishing others not to want an god-like government
- This is the most dangerous defense of inadequacy I have ever heard
- How about the government should be halfway competent...?
- "Try and stay away from the idea that the government is, or should be, God. "
- The closer you work with people in government...
