Other than nostalgia and publicity for space exploration...

Please tell me what sending human explorers to Mars and beyond will do for space science,
especially when you consider just what AI and other forms of technology will be able to accomplish by the current timeline of astronauts reaching Mars in the 2030s.

Outside of the two items listed in my post title, can human space missions be justified over machines?
