I'll only hope for it's passage if something like over a third of Sunni's and preferably over half vote for it. Without significant if not majority support, Sunni's will still feel marginalized. If rejected, the Sunni's will feel empowered by the vote and be even more prone to vote in December. They will then have far more say in the next draft. I think this will split far more of them away from the terrorists. It will also give the Shiites a chance to rethink their religious vote after witnessing the low level of competance displayed by those more concerned with how much power islamic law holds in Iraq's future than keeping power, water, and commerce flowing. I was hoping for a rejection until the compromise was reached which caused some Sunni leaders to voice support.
