Good point. Plenty of skeptical Sunnis out there.

I just have hopes that Iraqis can move on to another place in the political process, and not be stuck with another government by appointment for Allah knows how long.

It has to be demoralizing for them. They are a very bright nation, and one of the better educated citizenries in the Middle East.

It's long past time for the Sunnis to open some concilliatory talks with the Shi'ites. The Kurds are too autonomous to listen at the moment. The Shi'ites would probably appreciate some Sunni leadership in the matter of stopping the new sectarian holy war by al Zarqawi & Co. If I were a Shi'ite, I know it would make me think twice about Sunnis as enemies or even adversaries. Of course, if I were a Shi'ite, no one in power would listen to me because I'm a girl... but having grown up Catholic, I'm used to that.
