Hang in there, guy....
...keep that upper lip tumescent, and that brave face fixed in place. I know four days can seem like forever at a time like this, but we'll know the score on Friday.
It's tough keeping your head when all about you are losing theirs, isn't it? Did you read that story from the NYT carried in the Murky this morning?
Here's a quote:
...if there is going to be an indictment that says something happened, that it is an indictment on a crime and not some perjury technicality where they couldn't indict on the crime and so they go to something just to show that their two years of investigation was not a waste of time and taxpayer dollars.
Who said that? Some Democrat whining about the Republicans impeaching Bill Clinton for lying about oral sex? Sour grapes criticism of Ken Starr?
...wait for it...
...wait for it...
...wait for it...
...wait for it...
No, sirreee! That was none other than Republican Senator Kay Bailey Hutchinson of the great State of Texas, quoted in today's New York Times, whining about Paddy Fitzgerald and Friday's much-anticipated indictments.
The title of the article is "Republicans Testing Ways to Blunt Leak Charges", and that's just one of the many hilarious trial balloons the Right's test-marketing. But according to you, Tom, there's nothing to worry about. What's got the Republican knickers in a knot, then?
Hang in there, guy, the entire Republican Machine is depending on you to be their anchor of strength in this political hurricane.
Me, I'll just sit back and enjoy the magnificent spectacle of chickens coming home to roost. Maybe not quite the swallows returning to Capistrano, but after five years of Dubya, still a sight for sore eyes.
