You miss the point

It wouldn't matter if 99% of Conservatives favor outlawing the teaching of evolution if it never happens; conversely, if only 1% of Conservatives favor it but it happens anyway, that matters a lot. It actually makes it worse that Republican politicians are pandering to a minority when they push the teaching of creationism and its variants. The only salient issue is the actions of the Republican Party...on your behalf.

All members of a democracy are responsible for the actions of its government, and in the same spirit all Republicans must be held responsible for the Party's advocacy of creationism and hostility to science. If you think it's wrong, speak up, and influence the Party's selection of candidates you get to vote on. Tell 'em that pushing superstition and ignorance is not acceptable to you.

Tom, you are morally responsible, as a Republican, for the Party's efforts to undermine science and plunge America into the new Dark Ages. If you fail to work to stop it out of a misplaced sense of Party loyalty, then you're more than morally culpable, you're culpable in fact.

Just for once, try actually giving more than lip service all that RightWing rhetoric about responsibility.
