Had the argument been: "Tom is a Republican. Republicans are pandering to the religious right and subverting science. Therefore Tom is subverting science" THEN you might have had a point with your link...

But that wasn't the argument, was it? The argument was: "Republicans are pandering to the religious right and subverting science. Tom is a republican. Tom is defending the actions of the republicans and not openly criticizing them. This makes Tom culpable for their actions."

Lets turn it around now... "Some on the radical left make irresponsible comparisons between Bush and hitler. Bowser is on the left. Bowser defends this view and does not criticize the radicals that spout such irrational nonsense. Bowser is culpable for the damage such claims create."

I think BOTH those arguments are correct...
