When you say, <"Their idea of "freedom" is everybody praying 5 times a day to Allah...."> To the Muslim the freedom to keep their women covered up, veiled and subservient is part of their ideal. And, from that veiwpoint the West poses a danger to that freedom. Compulsory prayer 5 times a day is also threatened by the West and Islam would have everyone adhere to this "freedom" too.

There are freedom to do something, and there are freedom from doing something that have to be considered into the equation. As Americans we are quick to object to anyone telling us we have to do something, in the mid-East the objection is based on anyone not doing the directives of the religion and thereby violating the collective freedom.

Individualism is a singularly Western concept.
