When it comes to riots....
there are always things in common.
But, the LA riots were an explosive reaction to perceived long term police brutality and the French riots are more a boiling over of quite different perceptions. I sense a distinct difference. if we had 17 consecutive days of rioting in a USA city some people in Europe (and here) might be calling it civil war instead of rioting.
Raoul has raised the pot by 50+ deaths. No question about it we are a more violent people but we can call that with 13 additional days of French rioting and raise with the fact that it has not ended yet.
Is it a flare up like LA or an underground fire that will be near impossible to extinguish.
I wish them well.
