Justice, in my opinion, CANNOT be about revenge. It has to be about removing criminals from our society. Are there criminals that I would like to personally kill? Yup... thing is I want to kill them just out of hate for what they have done- would I feel bad killing a guy that raped and murdered a 9 year old girl? Not really.... but I also wouldnt feel bad seeing the bastard that robbed my house 17 years ago die a painful death... the thing is, should the government be involved in the killing of its citizens in any way? I dont think so... execution is permanent.
CNN just ran a very powerful documentary on North Korea, it showed people being forced to watch 'criminals' being executed for crimes against the state- it was barbaric.
The goal should be preventing these animals from doing any more harm, but doing so in a rational manner. Imprison them for life, but do NOT kill them... the possibility of a mistake is too real...
Ironically CNN is doing a story now on the founder of the 'Crips' gang that is facing the death penalty soon, the argument is that he has done much good since he was convicted of murder... yawn so what...? the argument should be that the death penalty is wrong, and serves NO purpose but revenge- the guy murdered many people, I really dont care if he has written childrens books with a positive message. He earned life in prison, but executing him serves no purpose...

- How many here think this guy was the ONLY one: "Executed man may have been innocent"
- More from the great chitty of Houston.
- There would be a lot less support for the death penalty...
- executing an innocent...
- Not hardly
- If Jaun Moreno lied under oath, and that testimony led to the execution of an innocent man, then Jaun Moreno should be charged with Capital Murder
- Death should be an option, but in only one circumstance.
