Here's an idea

Buck Galaxy — 11/28/2005 5:55:49 AM (archived)

Keep it functioning until it fails, then boost it to a safe orbit so that eventually it can be serviced by a CEV, Klipper or CXV. At that time sell it to the private sector for whatever the market determines and let someone else pay for fixing it.
