Results From Mars Express
The spacecraft has found clear evidence of subsurface ice. And, it has found clear evidence that liquid subssurface acquifers existed around 3.8 billion years ago. Unfortunately, the spacecraft has found no evidence as yet of liquid water beneath the surface present today. Here is an exact quote from one of the articles:
"To date, the MARSIS team has not observed any convincing evidence for liquid water in the subsurface, but the search has only just begun."
