Actually the reason I don't like Hillary is partly because she's a hawk but mostly because of that whole charade when Bill got caught with his pants down. She could care less about him having sex outside of marriage. In my eyes, those two stopped screwing years ago and saw (rightfully so) that their political chances were better if they stayed together and presented a wholesome family view. The Clintons are a business. I think they're probably friendly and decent parents to their daughter but nothing about their marriage is about sex. So that's why I don't like Hillary cause she didn't have the balls to say exactly that - to tell the American public that sometimes people hold the marriage together for reasons other than love, that sometimes providing a united front to a child or keeping together the strength and possessions you accumulate in years of marriage makes more sense than making an issue out of fidelity. I'm pissed at her cause she and Bill didn't have the guts to tell America to go screw themselves. Stand by your man - Crap, that was more phony than the closeted gay Republicans that were outraged at Bill and Monica.
I also don't like political opportunists that get themselves elected in a state or district they just move into for power.
And no, the Democrats aren't invalidated for Hillary or Ted Kennedy anymore than all Republicans should be invalidated for a sleeze like Tom Delay. There are some shining examples of Dems that walk their own line like Harry Reid and Russ Feingold. Barak Obama seems to be a very bright man but it's too soon to really know him by his actions.
Bottom line is that the main reason I'm so anti-Republican right now is that they're walking lock-step with the administration which is absolute dereliction of their Constitutional duties. There's a separation of power for a reason, to prevent runaway grabs of authority like we're seeing today. I wouldn't want to see all the power in the hands of Democrats any more than I would like the current situation. What is it about the Republicans that makes them feel this is good for the country?
