I don't like either Bill or Hillary Clinton. I believe they are opportunists, dishonest, and morally not fit for public office. I DO like their politics, but have no need to confuse that with believing they are honorable people.
On the other hand, those folks stuck with black-and-white thinking, which most of us start to grow out of in high school, HAVE to believe someone is all good, or all bad. No flexibility. Have been stuck, and will stay stuck.
Typical beliefs - Man is either the sole cause of global warming, or not a cause. And if Man isn't the sole cause, then there's no reason to do anything at all.
Another - Lots of kids watch violent movies and play violent games without massacring anyone, therefore those are not the cause and there is no need to curb them.
Aaron Beck on Black-and-white thinking
"People often see things in extremes, with no middle ground — good or bad, perfect versus useless, success or failure, right against wrong, moral versus immoral, and so on. By doing this, they miss the reality that things rarely are one way or the other but usually somewhere in-between. In other words, there are shades of grey. Another name for this distortion is all-or-nothing thinking. It involves self-talk like:
‘If it’s not perfect, then it’s useless.’
‘If you don’t love me, then you must hate me.’ "
So, they're stuck. Not even the flexibility to recognize Bush is a lying SOB AND like his politics. (Which make Bill Clinton seem like Mother Teresa.) They regard other people as objects who don't mind having their homes, families and nation destroyed by the Great White Christians.
That's our neocons. Immature, inflexible, and stuck defending or ignoring some very silly propositions. One of 'em even had to say that Bush wasn't lying when he said the US doesn't torture.
Honest, that neocon was the only one to address the issue, the others didn't have the guts, and he is so into B & W thinking that he HAD to defend an obvious untruth.
Go figure.

Immaturity and neocons - why they're stuck.
