Nonetheless, I will risk this one, or really two.

After the upcoming general elections one of these two things will happen:

1. The Sunnis who are revolting against the new government will decide to join up, thereby ending most of the violence, leaving only Al Qaeda and a few holdouts doing the fighting;

or

2. The Shi'ite-Kurd dominated government will get sick and tired of the Sunnis and begin a policy of total destruction of the Sunnis in Iraq. Since they outnumber the Sunnis 4 to 1, and are backed by the USA's massive firepower, they have an excellent chance for success.
