it would be nice to see the technology develop without being 100% dependant of the Space program.
It might make one heck of a welder in a factory somewhere...
Could a mining operation use one to melt the iron, gold, silver, etc... out of the ore without using a blast furnace or harmful chemicals?
How big would a VASMR "torch" need to be assuming the energy could be produced off-site? Could it be scaled down into a useable tool?
There must be some way to use the thing in an everyday use where it could be refined, perfected, and demonstrated.
