re: Unprovoked war

Starting a war against another country is the second worse thing a head of state can do, after a genocide.
Starting a war against a country that had nothing to do with the reason why the war took place, without provocation and without threat is totally inexcusable.

I'm really curious how future generations will view this: A tragedy takes place, caused by a few willing to commit suicide, and as a result the US invades Iraq (a secular state) which had no connection with the islamist fundamentalist (religious minded) terrorists. Iraq couldn't defend itself as the UN inspectors did not find any WMDs and insurgents let the US troops in only to force them into a guerilla warfare the US wanted to avoid at all cost (because of the Vietnam experience).
And it's far from over, isn't it? Only today.
