I just wish we had some assurance that blowing up some Al Quaida leader was actually going to stop terrorism.
Blowing up an al Qaeda leader sure as hell stops that one. Try to imagine applying this odd logic to any other criminal enterprise. Arresting a bank robber has yet to stop all bank robberies. So why bother?
So far there simply is no evidence to point out that technique stops anything other than the single dead guy.
This is not true, either in Israel or anywhere else. Israel, for example, has gotten quite positive results from targeting terror leaders, except from the usual whining Israel-haters. The west of Iraq has gotten very quiet lately, something that hasn't gotten much press.
As for "world cooperation," I fail to see how the enthusiastic support of France and Germany for U.S. policies would add anything different to operations against al Qaeda members hiding in Pakistan.
In other words, assume we had all the sympathy in the known universe. We still have to go in and get them, don't we?

- "as if that were difficult." Still waiting.
- It wasn't appropriate. It HAS to work, or else. Typical of the entire "war on terrorism".
- BTW...
